Rules for Business owners for the Window Walk: Holiday Storefront Contest

Celebrating Small Business Saturday with lights on starting Saturday, Nov 29 {Kick-Off}; Voting Through Dec 14

NP Business is introducing a new way to help shine a light on our local businesses this holiday season–a holiday storefront decorating contest where the community votes for their favorite display. Winner gets a traveling trophy with their name engraved (like the Stanley Cup) and keeps it for one year, and of course, extra foot traffic by potential customers to come see your display.

Here’s how it will work:

Now-Nov 29th: Plan and set up your window and/or lights display.
Nov 29, 5:30pm: All businesses flip lights on simultaneously to kick off the holiday season; you could even share on social media live as “holiday content.”
Nov 29-Dec 14: Community strolls downtown to see displays and votes online for their favorite display
Dec 15: Winner announced and trophy awarded

What You Need to Do

By Nov 27:
- Decorate your storefront/windows with holiday lights and décor
- Submit a photo of your display to info@newprovidencebiz.com or via IG DM.
Nov 29:
- Have lights ready to flip on at 5:30pm sharp
- Step outside for the lighting moment (optional but encouraged!)
Nov 29-Dec 14:
- Keep lights on 5-10pm nightly
- Share voting link on your social media (we’ll provide copy/graphics and voting link by SBS.)

Eligibility: Any NP business with a storefront
Display Requirements:
- Must include holiday lights
- Visible from the street
- Family-friendly
- Must be lit 5-10pm nightly Nov 29-Dec 14

Voting:

Vote as many times as you like
Open to anyone (customers, residents, visitors)
Voting period: Nov 29-Dec 14
Winner announced Dec 15

Prize:

Traveling trophy with your business name engraved
Display in your store for one year
Social media spotlight across all NPBiz channels
